Seeing the Lao-Tzu’ Tao Te Ching [ gold ink Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)] at National Palace Museum Taipei was one one my traveling highlight. read this book in the 90’s and it is one of my favour, and a go to book over the year. It help me mediate and understand all of nature [human / relationship / thing…] here are some of the quotes from the book hope you like it.

“ understanding others is knowledge,
understanding oneself is enlightenment.
Conquering others is powers,
Conquering oneself is strength.
Contentment is wealth, forceful conduct is willfulness.
not losing one’s rightful place is to endure.
toddy but not be forgotten is longevity”

If you look to others for fulfillment, – you will never truly be fulfilled. – If your happiness depends on money, – you will never be happy with yourself.

Be content with what you have; – rejoice in the way things are. – When you realize there is nothing lacking, – the whole world belongs to you.”
